review of "OLIVE BODY BUTTER" from The Body Shop

as you can see I have used half of it already :-))

ACCORDING TO THE COMPANY :

OLIVE BODY BUTTER is
For Normal to Dry Skin.
With 24 hour moisturisation.

An intensive, creamy all-over body moisturiser. It absorbs into the skin easily,
helping to condition, soften and smooth the skin and prevent dryness.
Containing Community Trade organic olive oil

Organic olive oil - Helps to condition the skin.

Shea butter - Moisturises and helps soften the skin.

Cocoa butter - Is an excellent moisturiser that melts at body temperature, leaving the skin feeling soft and silky smooth. Olive Oil The moisturizing olive oil in our products comes from an area in Italy that has produced olives since the middle ages.
The Nuovo Cilento Co-operative formed as a result of people abandoning the land to seek work elsewhere. In a remarkable story of success over adversity, the co-operative has gone from strength to strength, cutting out the middle-man to sell their organically produced olive oil directly, maximizing their profit and so preserving their traditional way of life.
Every product you buy containing Community Traded olive oil further helps the community and local environment.

Cocoa Beans For centuries the women of Ghana have used cocoa butter to moisturise and cool their skin in the African heat. Since 1995, The Body Shop has been buying cocoa beans from the Kuapa Kokoo company in Ghana, a fair trade co-operative with over 30,000 small-scale farmers. The money made by the co-operative enables the development of community projects such as schools and village wells in addition to providing the farmers with income to support their families.

ACCORDING TO ME
:
PROS
  • like the Olive scent, it's very subtle!... hint of Olive in it
  • light texture
  • melts on contact with skin, (will leaves that sheen on the skin, perfect for summer legs)
  • good moisturizing and softening effect.
  • silky light and smooths on easily
CONS
  • really costly
  • takes a bit time to absorb into the skin
  • did not undo the dryness skin patches that my legs already have
  • have to sanitize my hands everytime before using the product

  4. I used to love going to The Body Shop, and I wouldn't complain about paying AU$5 for a soap even though I could buy 10 Dove soaps for that price. Now I'm addicted to Lush even though it's twice as expensive.

I love the smell of the Olive, but Mango is my favourite. Olive reminds me of salad dressing.
